Your texts stay yours.

The short version

Uplink runs on your Mac. Your texts, the replies and your code never reach us. What we hold is your license: the email you bought with, which plan, and Stripe's ids for your payment.

What stays on your Mac

Uplink reads the Messages database on your Mac to find texts from the handles you allow, which is why it asks for Full Disk Access. It keeps its own record of each run (what was asked, the reply, how long it took) in a database on your Mac. You can see it in Uplink's dashboard.

Your agent sign-in is stored in your Mac's Keychain, and so is your license key. Codex keeps its own credentials, so there is nothing of its for Uplink to hold.

Who else sees your texts

Apple carries the messages, as with any iMessage. To answer a text, Uplink runs Claude Code or Codex on your Mac, which sends the text and the files it reads to Anthropic or OpenAI under your own account and their privacy terms. Uplink adds no service of its own in between.

What the app sends us

When it starts, every six hours, and when you activate it, Uplink sends your license key to uplink.stacksjs.com and gets back whether it is valid and when it renews. When you choose Manage Subscription it sends the key again to get a link to Stripe's billing page. It sends nothing else: no texts, no replies, no device identifiers.

When you buy

You pay on Stripe's own checkout page, so your card never reaches us. Stripe tells us your email, the plan, and its ids for your customer record and subscription. We keep those with your license key so we can email you the key, answer the license check and open your billing page. Stripe handles your payment under its own privacy policy.

We email you your key once, from uplink@stacksjs.com, and again whenever someone asks for it on the license page. We do not send newsletters or share your email with anyone.

This website

The site loads no analytics and no tracking scripts. It sets one cookie, a security token that stops other sites submitting forms as you. The server keeps ordinary request logs.

If you ask for your license key again, the address you type is used to look up licenses bought with it, and the keys go only to that address. It is not saved. To limit repeated requests the server remembers it, and your IP address, in memory for up to an hour.

Your choices

Write to uplink@stacksjs.com to see what we hold about you or to have it deleted. Deleting your license record ends the license, so cancel your plan first if it renews. Stripe keeps its own payment records for as long as the law requires it to.

Questions go to uplink@stacksjs.com. The rules for using Uplink are in the terms.
